It is the desire of KAISAHAN to influence law students and college students to consider development work as a career option. The KAISAHAN Internship Program intends to provide meaningful opportunities for the students to gain

Law Student Internship
Description: Kaisahan accepts law students in its internship program through which they are exposed to opportunities for learning, understanding and appreciating alternative or public interest law. Through the program, the interns get to know first hand the situation of the farmers and the marginalized rural poor and realize how knowledge of the law could empower and affect them. Law interns perform tasks and participate in activities which harness legal and advocacy skills as well. The interns are under the supervision of Kaisahan lawyers. Kaisahan has accepted law interns from Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines, Xavier University, and Liceo de Cagayan among others.
Responsibilities: The law student internship tasks are the following:
- prepare pleadings
- attend dialogues with officials from government agencies
- meet with legislators for the purpose of lobbying
- working with paralegals and other partner-organizations
- act as resource persons during paralegal seminars and training
- provide support to KAISAHAN internal discussions and activities
College Student Internship
Description: By participating in KAISAHAN's advocacy efforts, college students will have the opportunity to achieve skills that will prepare them for career in development work as lobbyist, policy analysts, campaign organizers, and/or grassroots organizers. The internship program intends to provide meaningful opportunities for college students to have hands-on experience in the Philippine legislative processes through lobbying, research, campaign, media relations and others. The interns are under the supervision of the policy advocacy officers of Kaisahan.
Responsibilities: The college student internship tasks are the following:
- track legislation
- attend legislative hearings and network meetings
- conduct data-gathering on agrarian reform, local governance and other rural development concerns
- organize of media events, assist in preparation of media releases and opinion pieces
- coordinate grassroots campaign activities, events and training seminars
- provide support to KAISAHAN internal discussions and activities
